Iash is an icy vacuum world with little or no atmosphere and a significant quantity of water frozen on the surface. The system has a population between 100 million and a billion sophonts. This world is a satellite of a gas giant or another planet in the system. This world is a satellite of a gas giant or another planet in the system and is tide locked to the planet it orbits. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Pact Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Iash, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight and the fiefdoms of a marquis and a viscount. All three are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Giaar Luu.

History and background

Initial explorations indicated a rich deposit of lanthanum. This turned out to be a cruel hoax for the thousands of prospectors who flocked to the system eager to make their fortunes and in the end lost all they had in trying to support their operations. This incident has worked its way into a local saying which is added to the end of sentences where the speaker is expressing disbelief at another statement: "..and there’s more substance in an Iashan strike!"
