Hu is a fluid world with an oceanic geography of a liquid other than water such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Zeda Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Amec Trade Protectorate and the Domain of Vland. Hu, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. During the Long Night this world was named Arli. The Nahuatl name of the world is Xochinenen.
Astrography and planetology[edit]
Hu is a member of the Dudin Cluster.
Stellar Data[edit]
History and Background[edit]
Hu is the main manufacturing center for House of Xihautl biochips. The planet itself supplies the raw materials required to manufacture the wide variety of biochip implants sold throughout the Amec Trade Protectorate.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Hu has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Hu has a population of 90,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
Demographics[edit]
There are two broad categories of citizen within the Amec Trade Protectorate:
- The Sun-born, which consists of the nobility, their families, courtesans, and Cuaupilli (those who have successfully undertaken the adolescent Test of Worth).
- The Amtlan, which includes the Maceualli ("tribute" or protected ones) who toil on behalf of their lord, and the Pochteca or independent merchants.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The following languages are among the most commonly used within this astrographic region:
- Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
- Karanga: A Terran-derived language that is a secondary tongue within the Amec Protectorate.
- Nahuatl: A language with its roots in ancient Terra, now used as the primary language of the Amec Trade Protectorate.
- Sall: The predominate language of Bolivar (Dagudashaag 0240), spoken as a common second language in the Trade Protectorate.
The planet's Nahuatl name is Xochinenen.
Although the current Nahuatl designation is not official, it is included in order to assist travellers who may find it beneficial to use this planetary designation while travelling within the Federation. It is strongly recommended that visitors obtain a good quality translator MemClip prior to entering Federation space. INDISS produce a high quality Galanglic-Nahuatl two-way clip available from all good data libraries, price Cr. 150 rrp.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Hu possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Hu is governed by a Corporate Polity, having a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. Essentially, this is a "company town" (or world). The typical corporate-run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families, including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.
- This world is controlled by House of Xihautl.
World Law (L)[edit]
Hu has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.
