The Greater Samardin Cluster is a large cluster of stars lying within the Where The Stars End region of the Empty Stars.

The Greater Samardin Cluster is a large grouping of stars centered on Samardin Sector. It also covers parts of Toller Sector, Palatine Sector, Pestilent Sector, and Stand Sector. It is bounded by Fools Rift to spinward, the Emerald Drift to coreward, the Ion Gate to trailing, and the Great Void to rimward.

History

The positions and types of the stars that make up the Greater Samardin Cluster have been cataloged as part of the University of Tal Varisa Deep Sky Program.

It is sometimes called the Lace Cluster on account of the large voids that occur within it, said to be reminiscent of lacework, a delicate, open, decorative fabric.
