Emderim is an icy, low-population vacuum world, with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts, warranting hazardous environment precautions.
- Its surface is ice-capped with little or no atmosphere and nearly all of its water frozen.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Ragol Subsector of Course Sector.

Chenku-Emderim System[edit]
The primary is Chenku, an ordinary red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.0202 Sols, a mass of 0.3942 Sols, and a diameter of 604,000 km. (I-I) a vacuum worldlet, (I-II) a very thin atmosphere radworld, (I-III) Darlu, an exotic atmosphere radworld: (I-IIIa) Emderim is its only moon and is designated the mainworld, (II) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (III) a dense rocky planetoid belt, (IV-I) a small gas giant, (IV-II) a ringed large gas giant, (V) a large gas giant, (VI) a ringed small ice giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
(I-III) Darlu[edit]
(I-III) Darlu (UWP Y6A0000-0) is categorised as a radworld. It orbits Chenku at a mean distance of 0.33 AU (49.4 million km), within the outer system. It has an orbital period of 110 days 7 hours: it is tidally locked to Chenku. The axial tilt is 2 degrees. Darlu has a diameter of 9,984 km, a density of 5.88 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.83 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Exotic, with a mean surface pressure of 0.88 bar and a composition of 93% carbon dioxide (CO2), 4% nitrogen (N2), 1% abiotic oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% carbon monoxide (CO), water vapor (H2O), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The world has relatively high levels of background radiation: emission rates exceed 45 rads per hour. The world has no hydrosphere. Mean surface temperature: -62°C. The climate is rated as Cold and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is dynamic and strong weather systems driven by the star sweep surge across the globe. Mainworld Data[edit]
(I-IIIa) Emderim[edit]
(I-IIIa) Emderim is the only major moon of (I-III) Darlu and is designated the mainworld. It orbits its parent world at a mean distance of 8 diameters (79,800 km), with an orbital period of 2 days 18 hours: it is tidally locked to Darlu. The axial tilt is 3 degrees relative to Darlu. Emderim has a diameter of 5,132 km, a density of 4.27 g/cm³ and a surface gravity of 0.31 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of Darlu cause regular geological activity. The atmosphere is rated as Vacuum. Around 18% of the surface is covered in sheets of water-ice. Mean surface temperature: -102°C.
