The EPDF-1 Panard class 8x8 Wheeled Armored Car is a later industrial era TL-6 Armored Fighting Vehicle.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
EPDF-1 Panard class 8x8 Wheeled Armored Car, TL-6: The vehicle's hard steel armor sheaths the chassis and turret to levels of protection to protect versus bullets and shell fragments. An improved internal combustion power plant and transmission are linked to a large 8x8 wheeled suspension. They are underpowered and their cross country mobility suffers. The ground pressure is good and they never get stuck in mud, sand, soft earth or snow. The turret mounts a pintel HMG over the loader's hatch and a co-axial MMG to deal with encroaching infantry. The 9cm anti-tank cannon is used to engage light armor. It is stabilized to fire effectively on the move. The vehicle has an operational range of 462km by roads and 115.5km cross country. A cramped design the crew lost their commander and the gunner had to take over those functions. The loader can not use the pintel mounted HMG and serve the main gun at the same time. They are not sealed nor protected versus NBC/CBR threats. They are too heavy for amphibious operations. They lack, even rudimentary, night fighting ability. They are easy to maintain and service.
The vehicle has a crew of three: driver, loader and gunner/commander.
