History and background[edit]

During the First Imperium a major lode of lanthanum was found on Dilaaii and miners were brought in to extract it. Over hundreds of years the world's fragile ecosystem too irreparable damage and by the onset of the Long Night all of Dilaaii's major native species were extinct.

As of 1105 Dilaaii is one of the poorest planets in the subsector. The lanthanum is completely played out and the system has no other important natural resources. Dilaaii itself has an unbreathable atmosphere and no surviving native life. The underground cities dot the surface barely produce enough oxygen, water, or food to keep the population alive. Poverty, crime, and malnutrition are major problems; the government does what it can, but simply doesn't have the resources to cope.
