Darrian Army

The Darrian Confederation Army is charged with the planetary surface defense of the worlds of the Darrian Confederation.

Description (Specifications)

The Darrian Confederation Army is subdivided into two organizations: the Confederation Militia and the Confederation Guard.

Each world of the Darrian Confederation maintains a home defense force that is collectively known as the Confederation Militia. Militia troopers typically specialize as irregular troops, and are experts in guerrilla warfare, hit and run ambush tactics and insurgency. Heavy combat operations are left to the Confederation Guard. Confederation Militia soldiers are often trained in the use of primitive weaponry, deception and other similar skills so as to be better able to operate by subterfuge and attack from ambush.

The Confederation’s heavy ground assault troops are known as the Confederation Guard and are formed of regiments that are independent of any individual homeworld. Guardsmen are generally equipped with heavy armor and weapons, and specialize in assaults and fortification. Guard units train alongside Militia units in order to create combined arms formations.

To defend the sovereign territories of the Darrian people.

Doctrine & Strategy (Operations)

Defense in depth is required to operate across planetary surfaces. Depriving invaders of the ability to land troops and reinforce them. Flanking attacks and deep raiding are characteristic operations. Defensive units operate from dispersed caches of supplies hidden in the remotest sites on a planet.
