A Military Unit recognised by the Imperial Army.
A unit sized between a Platoon and a Battalion.
A Company is typically commanded by a Captain, aided by a Master Sergeant and a Leading Sergeant.
n.b. Companies generally have no integral logistical support and are not usually capable of sustained deployments away from such support.
Company sized units in the Ground Force Command may also be known as a Squadron (Armour, Cavalry or Reconnaissance Arms) or a Battery (Artillery Arm).
In the Close Orbit and Airspace Control Command units of this size are called a Flight
History & Background (Dossier)
As the unit size one larger than a Platoon, and being smaller than a Battalion, this is a long-standing standard definition that has been around since pre-space days.
