Bridge of Sorrows[1][edit]

Should a group of adventurers wish to, they can try to find follow the Old Spacer's Tale.

The Moons of Chamois[edit]

A number of Ancients sites are hidden on Chamois' three moons. They are extremely hard to find.

  • They consist of a series of dangerous, unstable underground chambers holding teleportation pads, with one such facility on each of the world's moons.
  • The pads are usually inert. They activate according to specific circumstances within the chambers.
  • The pads link to each other. They also connect to a location within the outer system.

The Wreck in the Giant[edit]

The pads on the moons connect to a chamber inside a huge derelict vessel lying within the system's second gas giant, apparently undetectable by modern sensors and at a depth within the atmosphere that would crush most ships. It is of unfamiliar design and appears to be extremely old. The various chambers and spaces within it contain strange items, including large sealed containers and unopenable pods containing insectoid bodies in some form of suspended animation – they can only be viewed through small transparent panels and don't really resemble any known sophont. Many parts of the interior bear the scars of intense combat, specifically hits from powerful energy weapons.

While much of the interior is damaged, some systems still appear to be operational. At the heart of the ship is an enormous, still functional device that broadly resembles a jump drive, seemingly linked to fuel collectors / teleporters even deeper within the gas giant that appear to have refueled the vessel. The craft is monitored by a slumbering AI, which only slowly wakes up (its alertness directly corresponding to the amount of interference or interaction there is with shipboard systems). When it finally detects intruders it sends increasing numbers of cyborg-creatures with an insectoid appearance to drive them away.
