Centrum experiences significant tidal stress during its 61-hour orbit around Prospero. These cause widespread volcanism which has brought significant deposits of rare earths and metals to the surface. Most of Centrum is dry desert, but its two oceans provide very livable conditions to their significant drainage basins.

World Starport

Centrum has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

• The Highport was once the ornate Grand Centrum Station, previously a meeting place for the Corellan legislative body, now part museum.

• The Committee for an Orderly Future (COF) took control in 1059. The COF remains popular but exercises strict control over the media and education system and has not managed to increase Centrum's industrial and technological base.

As a full member of the Corellan League, Centrum sends two representatives to the League Assembly, which convenes aboard the Capital Orbital habitat, a station in geosynchronous orbit above Corella.

Centrum has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology.
