The Byl of Lomodo IV are an extinct minor race native to Alpha Subsector of Theta Borealis Sector.
- They had a non-humanoid appearance.
- Their technological competency was rated as primitive.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
The Byl resembled the Rudstot, a lifeform native to wetland regions of Lomodo IV.
A typical Byl stood at around 1.8 meters, though they adopted a generally crouched posture, and weighed around 100 kg. They preferred a wet environment: their habitations were centered on a pool of water.
They were carnivorous, primarily feeding on aquatic lifeforms, and were highly territorial.
Psychology[edit]
The Byl exhibited recognized characteristics of intelligence:
- Conceptual thought, including abstract language.
- Social structure, including social organization.
- Tool use, allowing environmental manipulation.
Byl psychology was driven by factors common to many sophonts:
- Acquisition (stemming from the need to gather adequate nutrition),
- Preservation (derived from the need to continue their personal existence), and
- Perpetuation (the urge to continue the species).
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
This species was involved in a mutually destructive 200 year long war on their homeworld resulting in the death of their species and the Irf with whom they warred. The planet is littered with the ruins of both species’ cities. Meanwhile another species the Osp, which was overlooked by the two warring parties has now colonized most of the world.
