Atlantis is a rich, nonindustrial water world, which has 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water.
- The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
- It has high-grade living conditions and life on this world is much admired by off-worlders.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- It is a member of the Corellan League in the Zydar Subsector of Beyond Sector.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- This world-system has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Topography and Geography[edit]
As its name implies, Atlantis is a water world. Most of its crust is under six to ten kilometers of water. Only a single subcontinental shelf approaches sea level; other than a few volcanic peaks and atolls, only one significant body of land, a 30,000 square kilometer island, rises above the oceans. This island holds nearly the entire planetary population, about five million.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Atlantis was settled from Valhalla in 335 and granted independence in 735.
This world is the homeworld of the company Foster AD Products. [2]
World Starport[edit]
Atlantis has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- There is an associated Naval Base.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The common language is "Corellan Galanglic", a distinct dialect of Anglic.
Government[edit]
As a full member of the Corellan League, Atlantis sends two representatives to the League Assembly, which convenes aboard the Capital Orbital habitat, a station in geosynchronous orbit above Corella.
