Build at a local TL–14 shipyard they serve with the 289th Fleet, among others. These ships were never intended to serve in line units. Unfortunately events conspired to demand more modern TL–15 ships in other parts of the empire. As a result these were shifted into front line units, until modern replacements could be procured from the nearest fleet depot. And so, they have been here ever since. The armored hull is a streamlined needle/wedge, equipped for ocean refueling with scoops and fuel purification equipment. The design is optimized to carry the heaviest meson spinal gun possible. All other design features were considered of secondary importance. The 46,000 tons of fuel supports a jump 4 range, and it is capable of 4 G acceleration and 2 agility. It carries a small company of 97 marines. The design features fifty missile bays, one particle accelerator bay, one repulsor bay, fifteen triple beam laser batteries, fifteen triple sand caster turret batteries, and ten batteries of dual fusion gun turrets. It carries extra screens and a pair of model 8 fib computers.
