The Byrna class Mercenary Cruiser is a mercenary warship that hasn't achieved the popularity of the better known Broadsword class Mercenary Cruiser.
Description / Specifications
Built at Byrna (world) using an 800-ton partially streamlined sphere configuration hull, is built for small-scale troop transport and combat operations. Fuel tankage of 184 tons supports the power plant and provides two jumps. Adjacent to the bridge is a computer model 3 fib. There are 42 staterooms, and 26 low berths. The ship has eight hard points and eight tons allocated to fire control. Eight triple turrets are installed. The ship mounts four triple missile turrets as one battery and four triple beam laser turrets. The ship carries two 50 ton Cutters, two 10 ton All Terrain Vehicles, and a four ton Air/Raft.
The cruiser crew includes: a captain/pilot, navigator, five engineers, a medic, two gunners, two flight and vehicle crew, and seventy two marines.
History & Background / Dossier
Some of these were deployed to Wapiti (Di 0913) (world) for a mercenary contract.
