Mershemu is a desert world with no free-standing water. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Laraa Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Mershemu, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. During the Long Night this world was named Nanis Aar.

Remarks

Native Lifeforms

Mershemu never developed lifeforms though it does have a wide variety of native mosses and lichen, which both replenish the atmosphere and provide a usable food source.

History and Background

This inhospitable dry world is home to a few tribes descended from Terra (Solomani Rim 1827) sub-Saharan nomads, who travel between the few isolated oases that dot the southern sub-arctic zone.

World Starport (St)

Mershemu has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
