Tana is a nonindustrial fluid world.
- A fluid world has an oceanic geography consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Syzlin Republic in the Kobe Subsector of Crucis Margin Sector.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
This world is part of what the Syzlin Republic knows as the Home Cluster, containing as it does Syzlin itself.
Stellar Data[edit]
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
During part of the Long Night, this was a subject world of the short-lived Kaiter Hegemony. When Syzlin gained control of a small fleet of starships in a military rebellion, Kaiter forces were driven from the local cluster.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Tana has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Tana has a population of 4,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population consists of Humans.
World Government (G)[edit]
Tana is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to draft the policies voted upon. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by the voting population.
As a member of the Syzlin Republic, this world sends representatives to the central government at Syzlin.
World Military[edit]
This world is defended by the Syzlin Home Fleet, based out of Syzlin itself.
All ground forces, system defense vessels, planetary installations and Jump-capable naval vessels in the Syzlin Republic are under the direct control of the Republican President on Syzlin.
