The Chercheur class Fleet Dispatch Courier is a dedicated message delivery and scouting asset.
Description (Specifications)
This long range Jump-5, combat scout represents the only dedicated message delivery and scouting assets the Strend Navy has. As a result destroyers which are more numerous are pressed into roles which don't suit them. Coordination between squadrons is often poor as a result. When attacking the navy tends to mass and arrive together. This makes them predicatable and easier to avoid. This ship is armed but not well armored and its massive model 8fib computer robs its agility.
History & Background (Dossier)
Built at the Strend (TR 0505) (world) in the Trojan Reach Sector.
