A poor, non-industrial desert world with a tropical climate in the Sword Worlds Subsector of the Spinward Marches. Mjolnir orbits a much larger rocky body named Niflheim, which is a massive world shrouded in clouds of dense gas. Rare glimpses through the clouds of the surface seem to indicate plant life, but automatic probes cease to signal once they enter the clouds, and manned expeditions frequently fail to return.

Mjolnir's system has two stars, the primary Oliver and its companion, Closamont. Mjolnir orbits Oliver at a distance of 0.06 AU. Mjolnir has vast dust seas, and its surface has been repeatedly pounded by meteorites. The planet's major resource is its vast oil pools, and mining of these pools is Mjolnir's primary industry. A devastating earthquake on 126-1044 destroyed Mjolnir's capital, Midhvolf, and reduced the planet's population by 75%. Midhvolf has not been rebuilt, and the new capital has been established at Uttonat Omrade. Mjolnir's starport is Armundshaven, which is also the world's commercial center.

Mjolnir was originally named Haulteclaire, and has been largely overlooked and underpopulated throughout the history of the Sword Worlds. Mjolnir is a member of the Sword Worlds Confederation, and the system supports a Sword Worlds military base.
