Ki has a population between 10,000 and 10 million sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This is a cold world with an overall climate at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Arnakhish Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Ki, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Nirer.

Astrography and planetology

Ki is a cold, highly volcanic world that retains a very thin tainted atmosphere; at the surface the air pressure is just a few millibars below what qualifies as a thin atmosphere. The air contains sulfur compounds and other contaminants, and can only be breathed using a combinations compressor/filter masks.

Ki has a solitary primary star.

Mainworld Geography & Topography

Ki's oceans are covered by a thick crust of ice but are liquid beneath. Animals are known to dwell in the seas but a properly organized expedition to discover the nature of Ki's aquatic lifeforms has never been undertaken.

Native Lifeforms

There is native life, but on land it probably consists almost entirely of primitive plants. Animal life is believed to exist. Strong evidence exists.

History and background

The community on Ki is self-sufficient in food and produces industrial-grade chemicals which are sold to Likhukam.

  • Its major imports include luxuries and high-tech life support equipment.

Imperial High / Landed Nobility

Ki (Da 2205), as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world.

World Starport

Ki has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Technology Level

Ki possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government

Ki is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
