The Arrstia are small, hexapodal (six-limbed) livestock (foodstuff) animals, bearing a superficial resemblance to the Solomani-Terran chicken, originating from Zhodane/Gaval (Zhodane 2719), and are commonly kept as livestock through Zhodani space and exported elsewhere.

Physiology & Ecology

The Arrstia evolved on Zhdant as omnivore/hunters until the primitive Zhodani took notice of the Noql and began to domesticate them around -40,000, which culminated in a fully domesticated breed by around -30,000.

Two of the major differences between Solomani-Terran chickens is that the Arrstia: They posses six-limbs (four wings, and two legs), and the Arrstia does not have feathers as the Solomani-Terran chicken, but instead contains a fibrous feather analog closer to the wool on Terran sheep than the feathers on a Terran avian.

Life Cycle

No information yet available.

Diet & Trophics

Arrstia eat a variety of small animals, insects, and plants.

History & Background

The Arrstia evolved on Zhdant as omnivore/hunter until the primitive Zhodani took notice of the Arrstia and began to domesticate them around -40,000, which culminated in a fully domesticable breed by around -30,000.

Arrstia are not only raised for their meat and eggs, but also for their wondrous fibrous feathers, which can be woven into a fine cloth. Arrstia-cloth is valued throughout the known galaxy by merchants and traders.

The Zhodani insist that the Arrstia is superior to the Terran chicken since it produces twice as many wings per animal. Some Solomani and Vilani gourmands have begun to agree with their Zhodani counterparts.

Travellers' Aid Society Advisory
