Dame Willemena Landry has been the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of THALD for the last twenty years. THALD is Zarushagar's largest non-megacorporate banking and investment firm. Corporate history places the founding of THALD around -1550, during the Long Night, in the Darmine region.
Landry's primary concern is the survival of THALD. To this end, she engineered a false break up of the corporation so as to avoid problems with any one faction or power block. THALD has reaped huge profits by playing both ends against the middle.
Dame Willemena also has her own secret agenda. She is a member of the Brothers of Varian and she uses the resources at her disposal to frustrate Dulinor and Lucan. Perhaps the most potent weapons in her arsenal are a knowledge of interstellar banking, cash transfers and the security measures used to protect both. Manipulating fleet payrolls and ship building programs are not outside her abilities. On occasion, Landry has also supported dissident movements and small wars of national liberation. (All at a profit). She draws the line at funding out and out terrorists and other extremist groups. (Because of the attention given to such organizations as well as for moral reasons).
In some parts of Zarushagar, Landry commands more power than the factions, but she knows her limitations. She plans to be in the game for a long time to come.
