Ciril is a moderate population rich world with over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts in population size.

  • Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to slowly improve barring outside forces.

Ciril has an oceanic geography consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.

Mainworld Data

Ciril has a frontier Starport without shipyards or repair facilities, and provides no fuel. The main world is roughly 10,800 kilometers in diameter, and is a Medium terrestrial. The atmosphere is an unusual gas mix which requires the use of oxygen tanks, but protective suits are not needed. Gravity is 0.75G, a year is approximately 2.32 earth years. The surface is roughly 25 percent liquid methane which qualifies it as a wet world. The main world has a general population of 100 Million local residents, which qualifies it as a Moderate population world. The local government is characterized as Feudal Technocracy, with government by specific individuals for those who agree to be ruled Relationships are based on the performance of technical activities which are mutually beneficial. Visitors may find the law highly restrictive as weapons outside the home are regulated or restricted by local authorities.

Native Lifeforms

The Xal’thir (also colloquially known as a Teracyst)

The Xal’thir are crystalline bioforms, bipedal and humanoid in appearance, composed of silicon lattices infused with trace metals, allowing for flexible yet durable structures. Their “bodies” resemble living geodes, with an outer layer of semi-rigid silicon polymer protecting delicate light-reactive nerve matrices within. Instead of muscles, they use piezoelectric pulses—tiny electrical charges generated by movement—to manipulate their form.
Their metabolism is based on silicon and sulfur, processing methane as a solvent. Instead of exhaling gases, they excrete fine silicate dust, which drifts into the air like microscopic glitter.
Rather than vocalizing, Xal’thir use resonant vibrations transmitted through their crystalline structures. These pulses travel through methane-heavy air like sonar, allowing them to communicate in harmonic waves. They perceive their surroundings by detecting subtle shifts in electrical fields and heat signatures rather than relying on conventional sight.
Their thought processes are non-linear, working like an evolving crystal pattern—more akin to fractal logic than human reasoning.

History & Background (Dossier)

World starport

Ciril has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport. The Ciril starport is a highport.

World technology level

Ciril possesses a Technology Level of TL–1.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Runners or beast relay and long distance signaling such as the heliograph and semaphore.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Muscle power and water wheels.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:

World government

Ciril is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

World Law Level

Ciril has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).

World Culture

The Xal’thir don’t experience time as humans do. Their memories are etched into their crystalline bodies, allowing knowledge to be passed through physical contact. They build “mind-archives,” where elders share entire life experiences by touching the lattices of younger individuals.
Their society revolves around harmonic governance, where leaders are chosen based on their ability to maintain complex resonance patterns rather than hierarchical control. Disputes are resolved through frequency alignment rituals, akin to tuning a complex musical composition rather than argument.

Urbanization

Instead of constructing from metal or stone, Xal’thir grow silicon structures, molding them via electrical pulses. They craft towering crystal spires that serve as both cities and generators for their energy needs.
