Used to lead CruRons of imperial cruisers for decades, this design is built around the most powerful spinal mounted meson gun available at TL–14. It also featured ten batteries of every other weapon system available except for repulsors and particle accelerators. These ships are mostly relegated to colonial squadrons, sold to client states or mothballed. They suffer from low agility, despite 6G acceleration, and carry nearly no armor on their streamlined needle/wedge hull. This is a stereotypical battle cruiser flaw, the guns of the dreadnought with the armor of a tin can destroyer. Their jump 4 ability allows them to keep pace with standard imperial fleet maneuvers.
