Created by Helena Space Engineering, the HSE-1xxx series M-Drive is the ancestor of their most successful product.

The HSE-1xxx series M-Drive is a ancestor of the successful, HSE-3xxx series M-Drive. It is not parts-compatible with the newer model.

Helena Space Engineering created the HSE-1xxx series M-Drive using new technologies available to leverage a niche in the market. The type was successful and the company became established. The related HSE-2xxx M-Drive series were specialist high-performance racing drives.
