Polearms are among the earliest found weapons, often sticks longer than the typical [[club]], but still effective at dealing blunt traumas. While [[TL-0]] polarms are found objects, by [[TL-1]] most [[sophont]]s have learned how to attach various stabbing, cutting, or pummeling heads to the weapon enhancing its usefulness. There is a great variety of types of heads attached to polearms, often each with a different kind of name. Many polearms are simply repurposed farming implements.

Polearms are melee weapons optimized to strike at a farther distance than the typical hand weapon.
