During a series of intra-Noble hostilities in the pre-Civil War era, the Lazisari positioned themselves as ‘neutral Imperial patriots’. While they were unable to have the sector capital transferred to their system (and their Duke become Sector Duke), they did win other benefits, including more Imperial military spending on their world and a partially displacing the Arab Muslims that traditionally dominated the local Imperial military.

[[Kikhushegi] is the indigenous religion of Lazisar, founded in -1173, and dominant on Lazisar since -804. Derived from Islam, the strong influence of Vilani tradition and philosophy on Kikhushegi leads many Muslims to treat it as heretical. Lazisar is a desert world with a thin atmosphere. The system has a population over one billion. This world is designated an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Gimushi Subsector of Empty Quarter Sector and in the Domain of Antares. Lazisar, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a count. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. This world has a nearby Naval Base, capable of handling warships.

History and Background (Dossier)

Lazisar is a respected and powerful system within the Empty Quarter, due to her combination of a high population, good technology, stable government, decent starports, and the best Imperial Navy base in the sector.

The massive orbiting city of Solariopolis is in orbit over Lazisar. It is the most heavily defended point in the Empty Quarter, and is also home to the Imperial Naval Base and the largest Imperial Navy yards in the sector. Large areas of the civilian side of the space station are lawless, with bandits armed with low-tech weapons.

Solariopolis was founded over Lazisar as an Imperial Depot in 238 Imperial. The planetary economy and population boomed during the False Dawn (200-300 Imperial).

The Imperial Depot of Lazisar is downgraded to a large naval base in 741 Imperial.

The Lazisari World (later, System) Directorate was founded in -792 Imperial. The governing Lazisar System Directorate maintains a paternal interest in the life of every citizen, and the impersonal bureaucracy labors to fit every individual within a prescribed social role and chosen, authorized lifepath. The Lazisari population – composed of native human ethnic groups, derived from ancient Vilani settlers - is comfortable with this level of social control.

Hebrin (world) introduced Islam to Lazisar in -1257. Lazisari modifications to Islamic doctrine – which eventually was codified to the Kikhushegi religion – led to a sublight jihad, an expensive and inconclusive war that ended after four centuries.

[[Kikhushegi] is the indigenous religion of Lazisar, founded in -1173, and dominant on Lazisar since -804. Derived from Islam, the strong influence of Vilani tradition and philosophy on Kikhushegi leads many Muslims to treat it as heretical. However, the vigorous support of the Kikhushegi religion by both the people and the government of Lazisar has entrenched it as the leading human religion in Gimushi subsector, and quite influential through much of the Imperial Empty Quarter.
