The Yaskoydri are an offshoot of Humaniti transplanted by the Ancients around -300,000.

Their best known achievement, if it can be called such, was the creation of the Empress Wave.

Having been given jump capability by the Ancients, they do not fit into the minor/major race definition, nor can they be considered a variant human race.

Yaskoydri Origins

Humans with high psionic potential were selected by the Ancients and transplanted to a world thousands of parsecs closer to the galactic core. Unlike other Ancients' transplant experiments, this group of humans were trained and given a specific mission: to establish a civilization and observe stellar phenomena found at the Galactic Core. The Ancients provided them with devices and technology to conduct this mission. The Yaskoydri were too remote from the Final War to have been involved or impacted with the exception that supplies and further instructions ceased. Despite this, the Yaskoydri survived and prospered on their own.

Yaskoydri Civilization

The nature of Yaskoydri civilization is unknown except for two items. They were psionic and they had Jump capability throughout their existence.

Yaskoydri Extinction

Some thousands of years before the First Zhodani Core Expeditions and the Vilani, the Yaskoydri homeworld was destroyed by the radiation and effects from a star in the Galactic Core disintegrating when being absorbed by a black hole. Elements of the Yaskoydri may still exist in areas rimward of the expanding heavy particle zone.
