History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Gurzueng is a sparsely settled world with no local industry. Its two towns hold most of the world's population of 800 Vargr split evenly between them. One town, Ekh, is located next to the starport, and the other, Dzi, is on the continent on the other side of the world. Gurzueng has no government, which suits the inhabitants just fine.

A handful of the Vargr on Gurzueng run the class B starport, servicing ships passing through, but most of the residents are silver miners. Many of the richest veins lie just beneath the planet's thin topsoil, but strong winds blowing constantly across the landscape make mining a formidable task. The ore is extracted by the Vargr themselves without the use of mining robots.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Gurzueng has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

  • Vargr starports reflect the variety of Vargr architecture, with many disparate styles of building, each having their own unique ornamentation and gaudy colour scheme, and all competing for the attention of the onlooker. Emblems for the major shipping lines and port facilities abound.

World Economy[edit]

The Society of Equals is primarily built on free trade between member worlds, which are encouraged to foster trade relations with one another. With the exception of locally determined contraband, embargos between member worlds are forbidden. Refusing trade of legal goods from another member imposes fines.
