- It lacks adequate resources to expand its economy to a rich status.
- Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
- This world-system has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
- This world is also the overall capital of an interstellar government with the massive extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
- It is a member of the Nakris Confederation in the Nakris Subsector of Beyond Sector.
- Nakris is the capital of the Nakris Confederation.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Satellites[edit]
The moons Etta and Betta house most of the heavy industry of Nakris. The outer moon, Betta, is the location of the Nakris Betta Starport, which handles most of the interstellar traffic and starship construction for the system.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Nakris was colonised in 433 by Imperials and Corellans with the intent of creating a civilization that lessened the influence of both the Great Houses and the Storm Knights. The previously settled world of Heby joined with Nakris in 530 to form the nascent Nakris Confederation.
By the early ninth century, economic difficulties on Nakris had eroded democratic traditions and put in place the dictatorship of the Permanent Chair and the Grand Council, which in turn took control of the Grand Senate of the Confederation.
World Starport[edit]
Nakris has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Nakris has a population of 4,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
Urbanization[edit]
Urban life is concentrated in dense cities dominated by tower complexes. These are essentially small arcologies housing 10-20,000 residents each.
World Government (G)[edit]
Nakris is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are young governments, coming as a recent change and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.
World Law (L)[edit]
Nakris has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade[edit]
The Gateway Consortium, a major commercial power within the Corellan League, maintains its own diplomatic staff and consular office on Nakris.
The weapons supplier Infiniti Arms maintains a major facility on Nakris.
