Ship Brains at TL:10-12 are capable of coordinating all sorts of avionics, astronics, and other kinds of electronics. Many have advanced programming that allows them to respond to voice commands and a few even have the glimmerings of AI.
- By TL:13-15, ship brains have significantly advanced allowing an even greater range of capabilities including early heuretic forecasting, self diagnostics, and even limited companionship for crew members.
- TL:16-18 technologies are still being experimented with and many project that true AI will be achieved.
- By TL:19-21, futurologists project that society will be fundamentally transformed by new AI brains and minds, which will possess not only advanced cognitive and calculative capabilities, but also the ability to understand and experience emotions, dreams, and even feelings.
