History & Background (Dossier)

Founded as the "Pick and Nozzle", a small tavern in Selkirk (city) in Selkirk in rougly 436 by Alexander Landrough. Landrough was a canny businessman and politician as well as brewer; he engaged in a partnership with Clan Munro in 440, earning enough favor with the clan to get a sizeable loan from the clan credit pool. The Landrough family were eventually knighted by and became a sept of Clan Munro, as part of Landrough's exceptionally canny bid to enter the nobility and earn the contacts and credit needed to make his business a truly large operation.

Over the centuries, Landrough absorbed other companies and became affiliated with other clans and credit pools, becoming not only a business conglomerate but a political one, in effect, as well.
