The Vuruna class Destroyer Leader is a design that is a product of the orbital boatyards of Garin (Far Home 0910), and represent an important vessel in their fleet.

It is a streamlined, needle/wedge structure hull fitted with scoops and on board fuel purification. These ships carry enough internal fuel for three jumps and can carry drop tanks for an addition jump 1. The design is capable of ocean wilderness refueling unassisted. For defense, the hull is armored to resist minor surface explosions. They carry ten triple sand caster turrets, ten triple beam laser turrets, ten plasma guns firing in a point defense role, a particle accelerator bay and a missile bay for offense. The primary function of this vessel is to transport 374 marines. The marines have a company of ten Grav APCs. The bridge is supported by a model 4 fib computer, and the engines are capable of 4G acceleration and have a 1 agility rating.
