Description (Specifications)
In many ways the pride of the fleet, this giant was nimble for its size. It was the size of a battleship, with the weapons of a Battleship, but without the armor typical of that class of warships. Designed with the philosophy that the best defense is a good offense, this enigmatic craft gave little thought to its own protection and sought only to destroy the enemy. Optimized to exploit the TL–12 jump 3 drives for strategic range, which was a significant advantage at the time, it traded jump fuel for armored hull plating. Its spinal mounted meson gun and vast missile arsenal could shred most contemporary opponents but this beauty spent much of the war in orbital ship yard repair docks, being rebuilt after each engagement. When not serving on the battle line it was more successful supporting its reinforced battalion of marines. Several companies of elite drop troops with assault capsules, a company of armor, a company of mechanized lift rifles, a battery of self propelled artillery and a squadron of heavy fighters could conduct lightning commando raids across planetary surfaces which many planets at the time were ill-equipped to cope with.
