A paper document in the form of a bound journal written between 2155–2180AD. It is the personal diary of Lieutenant Alisa Zelig, an officer aboard the Destiny Bastion, a long-range armoured cruiser of the Last Armada. It is written in 22nd century Terran German and frequently uses abbreviations, colloquialisms, and slang, which has in some instances made translation difficult. Although fragmentary, it gives details on events and locations such as the Last Depot, the Desolate Path, The Bridge, and the Angels of the Rift.

This child, Magdalena, was born after Cutting the Ties and is considered to be the first human of true Distant Fringe origins; Magdalena is known to have been present at Year One.
