Wal-ta-ka is a nonindustrial desert world with no free-standing water.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)

Wal-ta-ka is a Non-Aligned, tide-locked desert world located in Atsah Subsector of Deneb Sector.

History & Background (Dossier)

Wal-ta-ka was originally settled by Wellington Interstellar Miners early in the Third Imperium period.

  • A disaster in 234 forced miners from their protective domes and onto the bright side of the planet.
  • Visiting traders found the colony destroyed and all miners were presumed dead.
  • In 364 an expedition to resettle Wal-ta-ka found descendents of the miners who survived the destruction of the colony.
  • These descendents had developed a full-fledged subculture with unique customs and a new language derived from Galanglic.
