Lakuusa/Tsosoe (Empty Quarter 2606 D450684-4): The desert world of Lakuusa is home to seven million sophonts descended from a Vilani colony that collapsed during the Long Night. The Lakuusa Planetary Bureaux form a civil service bureaucracy that resembles the old Vilani traditions in little more than name only. There are many areas of Lakuusa that are not inhabited. When combined with Lakuusa’s low level of technology, this makes the planet an ideal location for secret corsair bases and the like, as the locals are unable to effectively patrol and monitor the entire planet. More than once, Star Legion has been assigned to search out and remove corsair bands operating within this backwater system, but system patrols are otherwise not frequent.
