The Retreat

A multi-faith religious community on the rimward edge of Halcyon Sector, governed by a Council of Seniors drawn from all major beliefs.

Description / Specifications

Areas of the surface of each of the member worlds are dedicated to each major religion. The community maintains powerful mercenary and Starmerc forces known as Helveticans. The Retreat began in the 29th century when an association of small religious groups seeking freedom to practice their beliefs fled the repressive Second Confederation, eventually settling on a garden world now called Monastery (2733 Halcyon).

History & Background / Dossier

Monastery remains as the centre and the heart of The Retreat. It is the site of important temples and shrines, major ecclesiastical buildings, and centers of study and learning. The world is also the largest burial ground in the Distant Fringe. Grange (2633 Halcyon) is an agricultural producer responsible for meeting the varied but specific dietary needs of the community. Hermitage (2733 Halcyon) is a harsh, barely habitable world set aside as a place of isolated contemplation and enlightenment. Gateway (2532 Halcyon) serves as a commercial center and as a barrier to free travel into The Retreat.
