Tent World
Tent Worlds are smaller worlds covered by an advanced technology tarpaulin or tent, under which an artificial atmosphere can be created.
- A world of this type may be classified with either a Main World or non-MW trade code.
- It is a planet or world type.

Description (Specifications)[edit]
The costs of trying to tent over a larger world are prohibitive, so only smaller bodies end up being test beds for this technology. As tenting materials and technologies grow more sophisticated, it is suspected that larger worlds will become feasible candidates for the technique.

Probably Planetary Orbit & Climate[edit]
There is no expected orbit for a Tent World. Any smaller body with adequate solar radiation can be a candidate to become one. However, Tent Worlds tend to be located around the HZ where costs are at their lowest for the process.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Tent Worlds were originally engineered and proven over celestial bodies much smaller than planet-sized. Techniques and technologies were often experimented with in rift valleys, large craters, or other depressions in a natural satellite or moon's landscape. The Terran moon, Luna, was one of these early testbeds.
Many different sophont peoples have developed versions of Tent World construction to suit their physical and cultural preferences, and the geneered humanoid Selenite societies are known to prefer these kinds of artificially designed worlds over the environments of natural, "wild" planets.
The Tentrassi sophont race received its moniker due to their association with Tent Worlds.
