Teiykiea is a pre-agricultural, pre-Industrial world with a moderate population of over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts.
- It requires significant imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to slowly improve barring outside forces.
- This world is part of the Aslan Hierate, as a world where multiple clans have split control of the planet, in the Delta Cephei Subsector of Beyond Sector.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
World Atmosphere[edit]
The atmosphere contains just enough oxygen to be breathable by Aslan or Humaniti. Every year heavy volcanic activity pours out dozens of cubic kilometers of lava, placing excess sulfur dioxide into the air.
Mainworld Topography and Geography[edit]
More than half of the surface is desert or ashfall, but much of the remainder, protected by steep well-watered mountain ranges, is lush forest and jungle.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The first ihatei reached Teiykiea in -930, with multiple clans staking overlapping claims to the most fertile lands.
World Starport[edit]
Teiykiea has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Languages[edit]
- Trokh: The universal language of the modern Aslan monoculture.
- Aslan Languages: Note that some Aslan clans retain obscure or archaic languages for personal use in addition to Trokh.
World Government (G)[edit]
Teiykiea has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
- Three centuries ago, inter-clan warfare resulted in a nuclear conflagration on Teiykiea. Since that time, the dozen minor clans vying for control of the world have opted to continue their conflict for dominance via a series of tehlaicho -- "strictly limited wars".
World Culture[edit]
Dueling is more prevalent on Teiykiea than on any other Aslan world in The Beyond, and assassinations occur with alarming frequency.
