The star Tania Australis (otherwise known as Mu Ursae Majoris) is a pinkish-orange giant star of spectral type M0 orbited by a companion star.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Tania Australis is orbited by a companion star, Tania Australis B, at a distance of 0.2AU with a period of 230 days.
- The Tania Australis star system is approximately 70.6pc from Terra, and is located in a Rimward/Rimtrailing direction from Terra at bearing 177.9o Galactic Longitude and +56.3o North Galactic Latitude.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Though the name is similar and the range is approximately correct, it is uncertain whether or not Tania Australis is the primary star of the world Taniaustralis/Boreal (Spica 0622), which orbits a star of spectral type M5 III to coretrailing/trailing of Terra.
