Notes (2018)[edit]

The Lords of Thunder are in Luretir!girr Sector, per MTJ4. No idea where the Gh!hken reference comes from. The Gateway Quadrant Wiki is not appropriate as a Canon reference, as it uses the older Judges Guild version of Gateway as its baseline.

Jim Kundert

Hi Jim, I work with anyone, herd the cats, and am left with the job to reconcile all of the sources the best I can, or with such help such as fans as yourself when they cooperate. I leave all research public here at the wiki and update it as often as possible. When it's just me, I am unable to keep up with the entire community. I take communication from everyone and only defer to the canon rules publicly posted here, or as amended by Marc Miller. Unlike some of the past Traveller Chroniclers, I don't defer to my own opinions, just those of Marc. I do fill in the gaps the best I can per my mandate from Marc. I also work with Josh and we coordinate the best we can. I trust Josh. He's a good egg. Josh only updates from Marc or from fans. We're like separate spy cells on the same side.

The job I took over from Don is not an easy one. I herd cats. But, it also puts wind in in the sails of Traveller and it gives Marc crucial support, assistance, and coordination. I do it because I want to see Traveller preserved and I want to end some of the silly multi-decade arguments as much as possible. I can speak for the OTU. I document and chronicle it. The wiki, for better or worse, is the best resource we have short of the original publications, and it is the only publicly available source (...available to anyone and everyone) that can compile and reconcile them all. It's not the One Ring, but it's very much better than nothing or the previous status quo.

I have reached out to you exactly seven times over the past 18 months and rarely hear back from you. I would be happy to integrate your data should you share it with me. I am scrupulously happy to only include your materials with your permission and blessing. I reach out to you when the material is available. I have been consistently asking. Sorry that some of my predecessors didn't always do that job as well. I have offered to amend the record here. You have my phone number. Call. I'll listen and work my best to accommodate whatever you'd like or prefer.

The Judges Guild materials have been re-canonized by Marc several years back and folks like me have been left with the job of figuring out ho to solve the conflicts, to blend the materials the best that they can be integrated and blended. So, yes, it is appropriate. Thank you for sharing your opinions.

There are at least two other K'kree developers and I'll default to whomever submits first, runs their materials past Marc, and get one of them approved. The other two or more that follow, will have their materials seconded, and we'll integrate them the best we can... same as the re-canonization of the JG materials.

I have added Luretiir!girr Sector per your notes. I had it in that sector previously and simply hadn't updated it yet. I appreciate the inquiry and reminder. The Lords of Thunder currently occupy pieces of three consecutive sectors.

Please reach out to me if you'd like to further communicate. Otherwise, I'll leave you alone and work with who is available and cooperative. I, as a general policy, take and respond to communication quickly. A reminder is always helpful if I am swamped. I have also been making updates to accommodate some of Rob's new insights, but he has been unavailable to return communication so that I can figure out what some of his more enigmatic statements mean.

Per MTJ4, the Lords of Thunder don't have a presence in Gateway until 1106, and didn't exist at all prior to 880. There wouldn't be First Survey data for them. Their origins are explicitly defined.

Please communicate more directly with all administrators and respond to all messages even if only to say that a response will come later.

  • Cooperation and collaboration with all members of the community helps us all to build, share, and coordinate better data.
  • Thank you for your observations. Changes made based on feedback.
