Talk:Drr'lana Network
Notes (2023)[edit]
Perhaps the system naming is due to there still being Vilani or Vilani/Yilean mix Humaniti present on the trailing worlds. The central worlds should probably get a mix of renaming to show a Vargr-Vilani blend, instead of the "different developers" chop at the sector boundary. --GypsyComet (talk) 00:16, 27 November 2023 (EST)
Notes (2020)[edit]
Observe that Traveller Map shows "white star" Naval Bases for worlds inside Gashikan Sector in 1105. This could be an error of that sector or it could be Naval Bases (N) taken by the Drr'lana Network after the infectious Wolvesbane Project was contained. Since the names of those worlds inside the Network are still First Imperium, Vilani names, it must be assumed that the Vargr never renamed those worlds during the Vargr Pillaging era. The reduced Drr'lana Network then retook the worlds seen on the 1105 map some time between the bioweapon and 1105. The Pakkrat (talk) 09:06, 13 July 2020 (EDT)
Notes (2018)[edit]
Under the name of Network, the Drr'lana Network falls into the Network (Assembly) subcategory of a Federation polity government. The Network polity Capital (Cx) is at Ipsuguka (Gashikan 1306) with an A-Starport, Tech Level of 9, the second highest Population at 7 billion, a Government other than Balkanized, Naval Base and influencing a Jump-1 arm of 25 worlds. As an Assembly, it most likely ruler is an appointed, Assembly Head Administrator who demands a tighter rein on member worlds than in other governments such as a Confederation.

Drr'lana News Network[edit]
As an Assembly federation, the Drr’lana offers what other Vargr-dominated polities find humorous. An independent, but state-subsidized information network has offered a membership in the Drr’lana News Network to Careers such as: [Traveller5 Agent, Craftsman, Entertainer, Functionary, Merchant and Scholar] or [Mongoose Traveller Careers: Agent (Corporate), Citizen (Corporate), Emissary (Diplomat and Negotiator), interstellar Law Enforcement (Enforcer and Investigator), Loner (Explorer and Prospector), Merchant (Free Trader), Psion (all, if legal), and Scientist (Doctor and Researcher)].
- Referees may substitute Mustering Out Ship Shares for Travellers from the Drr’lana Network who pass a Check Intelligence (C4) of 2D (Mongoose versus 8+) and submit to an Oath of Journalistic Integrity. The Drr’lana News Network functions similarly to the Travellers' Aid Society Benefit. Vargr and Humaniti may become members through Mustering Out or by purchasing membership (with Oath) for KCr500. Members in good standing can submit news via video, holographic, voice or written media at any Starport A or B and receive benefit passages at the same ports.
The Drr’lana News Network pays for these passages through membership purchases and advertising to follow submitted, remote reports from DNN members traveling through the polity, Gashikan, Trenchans, Gzaekfueg and other adjacent sectors of space.

Drr'lana Information Weaponry[edit]
Adjacent to its information network, the Drr'lana Network federation has adapted its TL-12 communications to a weaponized state in the year -1000. This has given rise to CommCaster and DataCaster weapons that can flood target Sensors with a variety of effects including virus infections that can temporarily disable a Compartment and shut down systems present before moving on to adjacent compartments. Modified DataCasters are found at TL-12 and Ultimate CommCasters are attained at the same level and are used by both military and corporate forces for their 'merciful' natures. Many vessels from the Drr'lana Network will mount one Turret with information weaponry in hopes of its deterrence. : - The Pakkrat (talk) 09:46, 23 August 2018 (EDT)
