Talk:Detsiaiem Subsector

This looks odd. The subsector map at the top is the same as that in Traveller Chronicle 5, while the map at the bottom, which is labelled as coming from that magazine, doesn't match at all. Not sure what the status should be with process of rejigging the canon worlds. Have not checked the UWP data at all. Advice needed OGuutan (talk) 17:45, 15 June 2015 (EDT)

I'd still wait for TJonesLo to respond, but I can say that many of the older entries use different code and programming. This one appears to have two different versions of the older maps. One is definitely from Chronicle. The Hinterworlds external page uses a similar format. Thomas will know for sure. He has the continuity. Maksim-Smelchak (talk) 18:03, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
There are Three sources for parts of this sector:
* The Sky Raiders trilogy © 1981 FASA,
* ARES Magazine © 1984 Dale Kemper,
* The Traveller Chronicle © 1994 James Kundert.
IIRC, the latter two sources are not in sync, hence the two maps. We never decided which of these was more correct, so we included both. It may well be the two maps are reversed. I would post this question on the CotI IISS forumn add see who remembers better than I. Tjoneslo (talk) 18:46, 15 June 2015 (EDT)

The Sky Raiders trilogy only uses the Jungleblut subsector and one planet in Inverness, so isn't relevant here (I've removed the source reference for this subsector). The subsector map in the trilogy matches the current one on Jungleblut Subsector for positions, and the Planet names and UWP data match the data file at Far Frontiers Sector/data (dated 2015-05-04) with two minor spelling differences.

Traveller Chronicle 5, which is the only issue I have looked at so far (I don't have issues 1-4), has data for this subsector and Ienji Subsector. The Ienji map and data in the magazine matches the Sector data file. The Detsiaiem Subsector data and map in the magazine match the Sector data file and correspond to the upper diagram, [File:LDetsiaiem_1110.jpg], and Subsector summary on this page.

So the lower image on the page, [File:TCDetsiaiem_1110.jpg], despite the implications of its name, is not from Traveller Chronicle. I don't have Ares Magazine, so I can't confirm that as the source.

Given the correspondence with the Sector data file, which has a recent date, it looks like the Traveller Chronicle 5 data and map could be considered correct and the lower map incorrect. I won't delete it myself until others have confirmed my checks. OGuutan (talk) 02:31, 16 June 2015 (EDT)
