Taer is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Yeskoth Corporate in the Kamnoir Subsector of Numbis Sector.

Native Lifeforms[edit]
Records indicate that Taer had life present when it was first visited by Humaniti, and the Hivers (via the Gurvin) corroborate this with their own experience. The nature of the Taer system, with its ancient red star that should have baked Taer into lifelessness millennia ago, makes it unlikely that the encountered life is actually native, but research has been hampered by many factors, including the proximity of the K'kree, who do not welcome archeologists in their realm.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Until the rise of the Yeskoth Corporate, Taer's history was unremarkable for the region. Coincidence left the system outside of the umbrella of the K'kree Crusade that contacted the Hivers, and the formation of the Soloni Reef and the early Corona after the Hiver-K'kree War largely ignored the system. Human settlers eventually took advantage of the unoccupied system a few centuries later, but found the world sufficiently taxing that Taer remained a marginal community for centuries. Some records suggest that Taer actually failed more than once, and was quietly recolonized after each attempt. The precise history of this period is not well recorded or known beyond vague tradition and the eclectic architecture of the Human settlements.
When the Soloni Reef collapsed and the Yeskoth Corporate rose in its wake, Taer was soon brought into the rapidly expanding state.
World Starport[edit]
Taer has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
- In the Yeskoth Corporate, a central starport authority only exists at class A and B ports. Worlds without such a starport, like this one, are allowed local control of their operations.
- Third Imperium vessels, save for traders and merchants, are not permitted here.
World Technology Level[edit]
Taer possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government[edit]
Taer is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.
This world is part of the Yeskoth Corporate.
The central government of the Yeskoth Corporate takes a very light hand in controlling local politics. However, the Yeskoth central government places large numbers of robots and installs AI systems on all worlds within the Corporate to monitor local activity and ensure loyalty. Having to interface with robots and AI is a common way of life on any Yeskoth Corporate world.

World Timeline[edit]
These are some of the more important historical events that have affected this world and the surrounding region:
- Circa -2130: The worlds that will become the Corona Regnum are settled as a Terran cultural region. These Corona Arc colonies make contact with local Minor Races and, in time, the Hivers.
- Around the same time, the Vilani of the Lishun Suugugki subculture enter the region.
- -2038: Several Hiver-inhabited worlds in Numbis are occupied by the K'kree, who begin exterminating local carnivore populations.
- -2029 to -2013: The Hiver-K'kree War threatens the Hiver community.
- Reactions among the Terran colonies are mixed.
- (-1776 to 0): The Long Night.
- Circa -1550: A reportedly zealous response to K'kree probes leads to the first declared Corona Regnum, as the systems of the Corona unite to stand against the larger threat.
- The Regnum lasts roughly two centuries before collapsing in on itself.
- The Gold Union forms at some unknown point on the Numbis-Crucis Margin border. It will in time apparently become the Amalgamation Union.
- -740: New Human states in Numbis began to expand and conquer, causing the Corona Regnum to reform as a defensive act.
- -710: Having repulsed attempts on its territory, the Corona Regnum begins conquering systems outside of the traditional Corona.
- -510: The second Regnum collapses, again under its own weight.
- The Year 0: Far to spinward, the Third Imperium is founded.
- 224: A brief Third Corona Regnum is declared, but doesn't survive the death in fleet battle of its founder eight years later.
- 300-420: The Imperial First Survey.
- Some ships of the Survey go missing in the region. Fragmentary reports suggest that the Amalgamation ("Gold") Union is destabilizing.
- 890: The Yeskoth Corporate begins formation around Edienta and Coreeedo.
- 995 to 1065: The Imperial Second Survey.
- There is no sign of the Amalgamation Union, aside from common architectural themes in old capital buildings and monuments.
