Sungos has the population located in one or more dwarf planets or planetesimals in a co-orbital position, an asteroid belt. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a Vargr dominated Non-Aligned world in the Piprninsh Subsector of Knoellighz Sector.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
History and Background[edit]
Sungos is a Failing (-3), near-Doomed collection of seven planetoid belts around a primary solar body. Its fields are bisected by a captured white dwarf star that enforces a gap between the fourth and fifth belts. There is a D-rated Highport connected by a "sky elevator-anchor" to a large planetoid. However, safety features are insufficient, as are gear and supplies for the 700,000 belters using the space platform.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Sungos has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
Later History[edit]
After a few mishaps and 'accidents', the world applied for aid from the Infinity League and was approved for Colony (Government 6) status in 1110 to its saviour world, Zungosgzalloeksuz (Knoellighz 0833). This saw Sungos' UWP changed to D000464-8 as its Tech Level was raised through increased logistical support in return for the lion's share of mining spoils from the system. Despite the upgrades, Sungos was not truly annexed by the League and remained a mining outpost, with hauls back to the polity in perpetuity.
