Rigel is a high-population world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Rigel Subsector of Rigel Sector.
- This world has an exploration base, which is similar to an Imperial Scout base, capable of handling explorer personnel and exploratory starships.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
The Rigel system is a Quinary Star System whose main central star (Rigel A) has a far trinary companion system (Rigel BC) and a distant solitary orange main-sequence companion (Rigel D). The mainworld orbits the solitary Rigel D star.

Mainworld Data[edit]
Rigel has an Excellent Starport with shipyards able of handling Starships up to the Overhaul level, and provides Refined fuel. The main world is roughly 9,000 kilometers in diameter, and is a Small terrestrial. The atmosphere has a pressure of 1.1 atmospheres, gravity is 0.5G, a year is 369 days. The atmosphere is a standard oxygen/nitrogen mix, which is breathable without assistance. The surface is roughly 85 percent surface water, which qualifies it as a Wet world. The main world has a general population of 20 Billion local residents, which qualifies it as a High population world. The local government is characterized as Charismatic Oligarchy, with government by a select group, organization, or class enjoying overwhelming confidence of the citizenry. Visitors may find the law highly restrictive as weapons outside the home are regulated or restricted by local authorities.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
- -1939
- Ships from Exploratory Mission Number 315 arrived and charted Rigel. They found a world with flora, fauna and humaniti at Technology Level 8. A group of civilisers were left.
World starport[edit]
Rigel has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World technology level[edit]
Rigel possesses a Technology Level of TL–16 or TL-G in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Personal holovideo and personal meson communicators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, collectors, and advanced Fusion+.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Advanced gravcraft.
- Space: G-Carriers & advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-7 and prototype Hop Drive-1.
World government[edit]
Rigel is governed by a Charismatic Oligarchy, like a charismatic dictatorship in that a larger group has asserted their right to rule. The group will likely have better rules of succession than a single dictator and may last longer, or may transition to a non-charismatic dictatorship.
World Law Level[edit]
Rigel has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
