A Military Unit recognised by the Imperial Army.

Description (Specifications)

A unit sized between a Battalion and a Brigade.

A Regiment is typically commanded by a Colonel.

Regiments are the smallest unit normally deployed by the Imperial Army for planetary actions and the standard unit for deployment by the Imperial Marines on planet.

History & Background (Dossier)

As the unit size one larger than a Battalion, this is a long-standing standard definition that has been around since pre-space days.

Regiments typically field a number of Battalions to be about 5 times as combat effective as a Battalion alone.
