Qualimala

The Qualimala are merchant-scouts formed to ensure the continued expansion of trade with the rest of the Imperium and to ensure the government’s share of the profit was maintained. This was important because the merchant houses paid their tribute (taxes) in merchandise, the Qualimala were created to continually expand the Protectorates trading opportunities and act as a way of trading with the rest of the Imperium.

They were formed in 830 by the Amec Trade Protectorate.
