Description (Specifications)[edit]
Originally called the Trepida III, it was renamed for the first Regent upon his death in 1157.
This is a member of the Trepida & Astrin Grav Vehicle Family and was developed from the Trepida I in the 1150s as a cheaper alternative to the Imperial class Heavy Grav Tank. The vehicle was deployable using the Rapid Deployment Aeroshell.
This vehicle comes in two variants: Standard and Command.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Because of the shortcomings of the Imperial class Heavy Grav Tank it was determined that a tank of the Trepida I's size but with the Imperial class Heavy Grav Tank's performance was the design goal of the future TL–15 Grav Tank. The Norris class Grav Tank was the result, put into service from 1156.
The new build was achieved by replacing the TL–14 powerplant of the Trepida I with a TL–15 version, and a new turret with the upgraded armament.
The command version has a slightly slimmer turret than the standard version, but is otherwise just as effective. It does have a smaller munitions load for the main armament. Note that the tank does not carry the full Platoon HQ, and is thus accompanied by an Astrin class Grav APC with those troops when deployed.
