Description (Specifications)[edit]
Nist M5 class 4T Grav Tank, TL-11: Designed and manufactured on Nist: Nist, (UWP A564798-B) the vehicle's crystaliron armor sheaths the chassis to levels of protection equivalent or superior to starship hull metal. The radically slope frontal armor on both the chassis and the turret are rated as excellent. This design is sealed with life support for the crew in vacuum and protected forces roles. It features a good balance between armor, weapons load but speed suffers due to the input required for the custom pulse laser. Traditionally deployed in companies of ten tanks with 30 crew, support units are concentrated at higher levels. One of the fundamental tradeoffs in the design was the decision to put a custom pulse laser side by side with a VRF Gauss gun in a stabilized turret on the vehicle's deck. The vehicle's speed drops from quite impressive to a crawl, literally 1/2 the speed. Operational endurance is excellent. A vehicle mechanic and a weapon maintenance and electronics repair technician should be allocated to keep these vehicles operational. The TAC missiles appear are seen as the best hope in a long-range engagement versus heavily armored opponents. The IR Follow-Up missiles can help ensure effective penetration versus the best protected vehicles in the Distant Fringe.

Chassis:[edit]
- Height: 1.484375m (+1.5m turret); Width: 4m; Length: 8m.
- Total usable volume: 56m³
- Total mass loaded: 200.481203 metric tons.
- Hull Material: Crystaliron
- Armor: Turret and Chassis front 60, Turret and Chassis sides 42, Turret and Chassis rear 40, Chassis belly and deck 40.
- Target Size DMs: +2 low, +1 high hits
- Production Cost: Cr4,220,720.762
Movement:[edit]
The Grav Tank has two different modes: Weapons Powered and Weapons Off. The Grav Tank has 0.995 maneuver Gs when the pulse laser is powered down and 0.48 maneuver Gs when the weapon is ready to fire. NOE flight is limited by available TL–11 avionics and 400/297.5 tons of available thrust which depend upon the status of the pulse laser.
- Speed:
- Weapons Powered mode: Maximum, 580kph / 483cm; Cruise, 435kph / 362cm, NOE 145kph/120cm.
- Weapons Off mode: Maximum, 1,194kph / 955cm; Cruise, 895kph/ 746cm, NOE 150kph/125cm.
- Movement effect on fire: None
Weapons:[edit]
Full weapons stabilization.
Turret Mounted 10.25MW Pulse Laser[edit]
This single lens pulse laser has both 10.25MW input and output. Its use curtails the vehicle's top speed. It is fitted with TL–11 direct fire control. The weapon's maximum potential range is greatly restricted by the available fire control system. It enjoys effective penetration out to the limits of the fire control system. This weapon can be used to designate targets out to the limits of the 40-power target acquisition LADAR installed. It can outrange several contemporary plasma weapons mounted on rival designs. It has +3 signature when it fires and has 10.255MW/second batteries. It can engage a single target per firing phase and its direct fire characteristics are:
| Effective Range | Long Range | Extreme Range |
| 3.5km (55) | 4.5km (55) | 8km (55) |
Turret Mounted VRF 4mm Gauss Gun[edit]
This VRF Gauss gun is mounted in the stabilized turret (1.5mx3mx5m=18m3) next to the pulse laser, on the chassis deck. This weapon is tasked with eliminating enemy foot mobile personnel. The weapon is fitted with TL–11 point defense fire control. It rolls 8d6 versus indirect fire missions, grenades, drones, and missiles. There is storage for 30,000 rounds, enough to allow 23 fire phases of sustained fire. It can engage 16 targets in 15 seconds and has a +4 signature. It has the following direct fire characteristics:
| Effective Range | Long Range | Extreme Range |
| 1.5 km (21)+8 | 3 km (19)+6 | 4.5 km (17)+3 |
TAC Missile Launchers[edit]
There are two 50kg capacity, magazine fed tube launchers in the turret mounted on the chassis deck. They use a 6kg 20cm HEAP 53 warheads. It takes a single crew member to manually reload these missiles internally from the cargo bay if additional rounds are available. The homing missiles struggle to achieve intercepts against vehicles protected with advanced ECM abilities. The launchers are equipped to support operator guided missiles with a radio command link and teleguided missiles with a radio command link. Jamming is a concern for this system. Each launcher has magazine capacity for twenty missiles. An assortment of forty missiles is detailed below and are included in the purchase price.
| Type | Range | Price |
| (8) Homing | 35.4 km or 25.4km +10 DM | Cr379 |
| (8) Target Designated Homing | 35.4 km or 25.4km +10 DM | Cr479 |
| (8) IR Follow-up +8 HEAP Penetration | 35.4 km or 25.4km +10 DM | Cr479 |
| (8) Operator Guided +3 DM w/Radio Command Link | 22.5 km or 12.5km +10 DM | Cr278 |
| (8) Teleguided w/Radio Command Link | 15.5 km | Cr1,777 |
Power / Equipment:[edit]
